Introduction

Your privacy is important to us. If you leave personal information on the Crewlinker website, we will process it in accordance with this privacy statement. We have equipped our systems with due care and security, to ensure the privacy of our users in agreement with the requirements of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The Crewlinker website uses cookies to allow us to see how our website is being used and what services are being accessed, which gives us the possibilities to continuously improve our website and our services. Additionally, we gather numerical data and totals for statistical purposes. The visitor’s identity is however of no importance. Personal information

Crewlinker collects and processes personal data. We collect and process personal data from you when you provide, post or upload it to our services. When you register yourself by creating a Crewlinker account, we collect and process your contact details like email address and telephone number, your gender, nationality, date of birth and resume. We only collect and process personal data that are relevant and necessary for our services.

If you wish to upload any additional information to your account, such as a copy of your passport, seaman’s book, certificates or other licenses, working history etc. we will process this information as well. It is not compulsory to provide this additional information at the stage of registration. However, it does help other Crewlinker users to assess whether they have a suitable job for you.

Companies that use our platform to find suitable job candidates, may view personal data linked to your account when your job profile matches their search. Only personal data that are relevant and necessary for our service of matching candidates to job opportunities, will be shared, and only with your prior consent.

We receive personal data about you when others import or sync their contacts with our Services, associate their contacts with our users’ profiles or send messages using our services (connection requests).


Disclosure of personal information

A strictly limited amount of personal information can be shared with our clients, authorities, auditors and possibly with suppliers (such as software providers, insurers or training institutes), however only after you have given your consent to share this personal information. The provision of your personal information will always be in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and shall always be justified by a legal obligation and/or the execution of an instruction by any public authority.


Cross-border disclosure and storage

Our services are offered worldwide. Your personal information can therefore be stored and used on a worldwide basis. We will take all reasonable steps to ensure that adequate mechanisms are in place to protect your information.


Retention period

If you delete your Crewlinker profile, the personal data from your Crewlinker profile will no longer be visible to others within 24 hours. After you have deleted your profile, we will store your personal information for a maximum period of two years. By creating your profile, you give us permission for storing your data throughout the mentioned term. The information is being used for sending you newsletters and/or other interesting information about our platform or job opportunities. You can easily deregister from these news services by clicking on the deregister link in the received messages. Furthermore, we save your data for handling possible claims, litigation, audit, tax or other legal obligations.

Information you have shared with others may still be visible after you close your account or delete the information from your Crewlinker profile. We do not control data that other users have copied out of our services. Groups content and ratings or review content associated with your closed accounts will show an unknown user as the source.

With regards to business relations (in distinction of consumers using our platform) we save the contact details of our business relations, such as employees / contact persons of our customers, suppliers, vendors with whom we do business. We only process information which is necessary for our services. Mostly names, contact details and function or title of business relations are being processed.


Access to and correction of personal information

All persons registered at Crewlinker have, at all times, the right to access, modify or delete their personal information. In your account settings you can control and manage the personal data we have about you. You can also ask us to modify or delete your personal data, however as explained above you can also delete your profile yourself. Please send your request for deletion to info@crewlinker.com. We will respond to you within the legally defined term after the request is made.


Security and Confidentiality

Crewlinker continuously develops its website, platform and software and therefore continues to maximise the security of personal information at all times. We use a data security policy and have taken adequate technical and organisational measures in order to prevent unlawful use of personal data. These measures shall be evaluated and, where appropriate, be updated.

Crewlinker employees who have access to your personal information, are bound by a confidentiality clause including a penalty clause. Unless a legal provision or duty requires them to do so, they will not disclose your personal information in any other way than as described in this privacy statement.
